Descripción:3-Methoxythiophene-2-carboxylic acid is a monomer in the synthesis of polyamides. It is an n-terminal amino acid that is involved in the formation of peptide bonds. The methoxy group on this amino acid allows it to be selective for dna sequences, which are unsymmetrical and contain methoxy residues. 3-Methoxythiophene-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to selectively bind dna sequences with a chloro substituent at the 3' position and to have affinities for residue thiophene.
