It prevents the growth of microorganisms by inhibiting the production of thiols and nitric oxide. 2,4,5-Trimethoxybenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride has been shown to be a potent antagonist of CRTH2 receptors in vitro. This receptor is involved in the inflammatory response and its inhibition may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as hepatitis and rheumatoid arthritis.
