Trisalicylic acid binds to the target tissue and pro-inflammatory cytokines through its molecular structure, which can lead to cell death by apoptosis. This molecule also has antidiabetic, prostatic hypertrophy, and dilating effects. The isomers of trisalicylic acid are less potent than the transgenic animals as a result of their inability to bind proteins with high affinity.
