Descripción:Coluracetam is a drug that inhibits the reuptake of serotonin. It is an analog of piracetam and has been shown to have similar effects, including improving memory and cognitive function in patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease. Coluracetam also enhances acetylcholine release by acting on cholinergic receptors, which may be responsible for its effect on locomotor activity. Coluracetam binds to specific agents on the cell membrane, which are involved in the uptake of glutamate or aziridinium. This binding prevents the uptake of these neurotransmitters into the cell, thereby increasing their concentration in the synaptic cleft and enhancing their effects on neurons.
