Información del producto
- Benzaldehyde, 3,5-Bis(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-2-Methoxy-
3,5-Di-tert-butyl-2-methoxybenzaldehyde is a phenolic compound that has been synthesised to be a ligand for transition metal complexes. It is an aromatic compound with a sphere geometry, which is common in phenols and other aromatic compounds. 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-2-methoxybenzaldehyde can reversibly form a metal complex by reacting with metals such as iron (II) or copper (II). The protonation of 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-2-methoxybenzaldehyde leads to the formation of a phenolate ion. Phenolates are more acidic than unprotonated molecules and have higher affinity for metals. The binding of 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-2-methoxybenzaldehyde to the metal atom can cause oxidation of the metal center and produce radical species.
