It has a transition temperature of -7 °C and the crystals are orthorhombic, with space group Cc. 4-(Benzyloxy)-2-fluorobenzonitrile is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene and chloroform. The molecule consists of two benzene rings connected by a methylene chain and a fluoro group. The monomers are linked by oxetane bridges.
