Jatrophane 6 is a diterpene that has been found to have anticancer activity. It was originally isolated from the bark of the jatropha tree, but can also be synthesized. Jatrophane 6 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in animals and humans by modulating gene expression and cell signaling pathways. It has also been shown to be effective against viruses, such as herpes simplex virus (HSV) and human cytomegalovirus (HCMV). Jatrophane 6 may have potential as a topical treatment for skin cancer because it is not toxic to healthy cells.
