4H,5H,6H,7H-[1,2,3]Triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine (TP) is a pyridyl-containing heterocycle that has been reported to act as a catalyst for organic reactions. TP is used in the synthesis of natural products and other organic compounds. In addition to being an effective catalyst for various organic reactions, TP also forms ionic liquid complexes with ionic solvents such as 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride and 1-butyl-3-methylpyrrolidinium chloride. The solvent properties of these complexes are optimized by the presence of the TP moiety.
