Nrf2-IN-1 is a small molecule that has been shown to increase the glomerular filtration rate in rats. It also enhances renal function by reducing urea nitrogen and staining. In addition, Nrf2-IN-1 protects against renal injury caused by ischemia reperfusion injury in rats. Nrf2-IN-1 also prevents oxidative injury of kidney cells and reduces cell apoptosis. This drug has been shown to reduce inflammation by inhibiting tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) production in mice with acute kidney injury.
