Descripción:KDU731 is a synthetic non-opioid drug that is being investigated for the treatment of diarrhoea. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to release the active form, desacetyl-KDU731, which inhibits lipid kinase activity. This mechanism of action may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer. The pharmacokinetic properties of KDU731 have been studied in rats and dogs and found to be dependent on water content. The drug has also been tested in cell culture models as well as animal models for use as an anti-inflammatory agent or cancer treatment and found to be effective in these models.
