PF-6274484 is a histone methylation inhibitor that binds to the drug target and inhibits histone methyltransferases. This inhibition leads to decreased expression of genes associated with cancer, including genes that regulate cell cycle progression, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. PF-6274484 also induces apoptosis in tumor cells by inhibiting the growth factor signal transduction pathway. PF-6274484 has been shown to bind specifically to enteroendocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract and inhibit their growth. PF-6274484 has been shown to have minimal effects on other mammalian cell types.
