11-Cis-acitretin-d3 is a metabolite of acitretin, which is used for the treatment of severe psoriasis. The analytical method for 11-Cis-acitretin-d3 relies on the use of mass spectrometric detection and was validated by comparing with a previously published LC/MS/MS method. The validation study showed that this new method has an excellent linearity (r2 = 0.9989), accuracy (relative error 5%), precision (relative standard deviation 6%), and limit of quantitation (0.1 ng/mL). The matrix effect was also investigated and found to be minimal in this case, as it did not affect the chromatographic separation or the detection sensitivity of 11-Cis-acitretin-d3.
