PF-05089771 is a small molecule that binds to the human P2X7 receptor and blocks its activation by ATP. It has shown to have anti-cancer effects in preclinical studies, and is currently being evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for various cancers. PF-05089771 has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, as well as pain relief effects in an animal model of chronic pain. This drug is also expressed at high levels in cancer tissues, which may be due to its role in cell proliferation. The structural biology of PF-05089771 is not yet known.
