It is a functional group of aromatic hydrocarbons, which are organic compounds containing carbon and hydrogen in the form of an aromatic ring. 2-Diethylaminopyridine is used as a precursor for the synthesis of n-oxide and as a pharmaceutical preparation. This molecule is also used as an optical property to detect copper complex. The methoxy groups on the 2-diethylaminopyridine molecule make it soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform or dichloromethane.
