4,6-Dibromobenzene-1,3-diamine is a reactive molecule with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance (MR) properties. It has been shown to be paramagnetic in the presence of an external magnetic field and to exhibit strong resonances in the x-ray crystallography. The magnetic properties of this compound are connected with its conformation. 4,6-Dibromobenzene-1,3-diamine has been used as a research tool for studying the kinetics of phenylene and other amines. This compound has also been used as a reagent in glycol synthesis.
