• Descripción: Dimemorfan phosphate is a drug that belongs to the class of phosphonates and has been shown to have bronchodilatory properties. It is used in the treatment of chronic bronchitis and related conditions. Dimemorfan phosphate is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed by the enzyme, hydrochloric acid, to release dimemorfane, its active form. Dimemorfane binds to DNA and inhibits polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This inhibition leads to decreased synthesis of DNA. Dimemorfane also has immunosuppressive properties and has been shown to inhibit carcinoma cell lines in vitro.
