Descripción

Mk-912 hydrochloride hydrate is a 5-HT1A receptor agonist that has been shown to be a low potency, selective agonist at the 5-HT1A receptor. Mk-912 hydrochloride hydrate has been used in animal studies for its effects on blood pressure and serum levels. The drug is not orally active, so must be administered by injection or intravenously. Mk-912 hydrochloride hydrate binds to alpha-2 adrenergic receptors and causes vasoconstriction of mesenteric vascular beds. It also produces an increase in blood pressure in animals that may be due to its ability to stimulate the release of norepinephrine from peripheral sympathetic nerve endings.
