6-Iodochroman-4-Ol is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) and inhibits the downstream signal transduction pathway. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma in animal models. 6-Iodochroman-4-Ol has also been shown to reduce the number of tumour vessels, which may be due to its ability to inhibit angiogenesis. This drug has also been used for treatment of paediatric patients with metastatic renal cell carcinomas. The efficacy of this drug is reduced by elevated serum levels of TNF-α, which may be due to increased production or decreased clearance.
