2-N-Boc-3-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-2-methylaminomethyl-propionic acid is a metabolite of propionate, which is an intermediate in the metabolism of amino acids. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and obesity. 2-N-Boc-3-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-2-methylaminomethyl-propionic acid also has antiinflammatory activities that have been demonstrated using response elements in vitro.
