9,9-Didodecyl-2,7-dibromofluorene is a polymeric material with an interesting chemical structure. 9,9-Didodecyl-2,7-dibromofluorene can be used as a monomer for the synthesis of block copolymers and polymers. This material has been shown to have π-π interactions with single-walled carbon nanotubes and has been proposed to be used in the fabrication of nanocomposites for polymer composites. 9,9-Didodecyl-2,7-dibromofluorene is also known to have carboxylic acid and hydroxyl functional groups that can be coupled to ethylene glycol or other similar molecules. The resulting copolymers are useful in the production of polyurethanes and polyesters.
