Descripción

Zinc iron oxide is a compound composed of zinc and iron. It is the primary component in ferrites, which are magnetic materials that can be used to filter wastewater and remove contaminants by means of chemical reactions. Zinc iron oxide has been studied as a treatment for prostate cancer cells, with promising results. The reaction mechanism is currently unknown, but it may involve the generation of reactive oxygen species. Zinc iron oxide has been synthesized using several methods, including hydrothermal synthesis and laser ablation. It has also been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus mirabilis, and Escherichia coli.
