NCX 466 is a peptide that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins, such as PGE2. The drug has been shown to be effective in clinical trials using mice with experimental arthritis. NCX 466 has also shown efficacy in human studies, where it was found to inhibit erythroid cell growth by blocking extracellular signal-related kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) activation.
