Descripción:
2,3,5,6-Tetrabromo-p-cresol is a brominated phenolic compound that is used as a flame retardant. It has been shown to react with polymers and form a homolytic bond. This reaction can be catalyzed by the presence of an allyl group or ethylene. 2,3,5,6-Tetrabromo-p-cresol is not flammable and does not produce any residue. However, it has been shown to cause styrene to polymerize and form polystyrene beads. The polymer matrix is resistant to the effects of peroxide and additives such as sulfur.
