Ciprofloxacin b-D-glucuronide has high activity against gram-negative bacteria and broad-spectrum activity. It has been shown to have antibacterial effect on serum concentration, bioassay, and synthetic models. This drug binds to the beta-subunit of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, inhibiting the synthesis of proteins vital for cell division.
