Descripción:This heterocycle is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme called nitroreductase, which is involved in the synthesis of nitroaromatic compounds that are carcinogenic. It has been shown to induce apoptotic cell death by binding to the skeleton and inhibiting protein synthesis. The drug also interacts with mononuclear cells, inducing apoptosis in those cells at low doses and cytotoxicity at higher doses. This agent has been shown to have inhibitory activity against cancer cells and can be used for treatment of cancers such as colon cancer.
