Descripción:2-Bromo-5-ethylthiophene is a brominated electron donor that has been used as an electron delocalizer in macrocyclic compounds. The electron delocalization is due to the coplanarity of the bithienyl and tetramer rings. 2-Bromo-5-ethylthiophene can be used for the synthesis of polymeric materials, such as polyimides, by lowering the melting point. It is also an excellent reagent for MALDI-TOF analysis in mass spectroscopy.
