Oxyntomodulin is a peptide hormone that is used as a pharmacological treatment for diabetes. Oxyntomodulin is an analogue of glucagon, which belongs to the family of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists. Oxyntomodulin has been shown to improve glucose tolerance and increase insulin secretion in humans and animals.
