2-(Chloromethyl)-4-methoxypyridine hydrochloride (2-CMP) is a sulfide that can be used as a catalyst in organic chemistry. 2-CMP is efficient for the conversion of alkenes to alkanes and has been shown to be selective for the formation of linear alkanes.
