• Descripción: 4-Deoxy-D-glucose is a neutral, odorless chemical that is used in the synthesis of glycosides. It has a hydroxy group and a methyl group attached to the 4th carbon atom. The hydroxy group on the 4th carbon atom can act as a nucleophile and react with electrophilic groups such as ketones or alcohols. This reaction mechanism leads to the formation of sugar products called methyl glycosides.
