• Descripción: 2,6-Dideoxy-D-glucose is a glycosyl acceptor that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. It is an anticancer agent that inhibits the production of ATP by inhibiting glycolysis. 2,6-Dideoxy-D-glucose can also inhibit the translocation of proteins from the cytoplasm to the nucleus and thereby prevent nuclear accumulation of these proteins. This drug may also have anticancer effects through its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and potentiate anticancer effects of other chemotherapeutic agents. 2,6-Dideoxy-D-glucose has been shown to be effective against cardiac cancer cells and leukemia cells.
