It inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, thereby reducing blood pressure and improving blood flow. Ramipril benzyl ester is a particle that has been activated by thionyl chloride, which reacts with the nitrogen atoms on the molecule's surface to produce a chloride ion and an organic solvent.
