Tralkoxydim is a herbicide that belongs to the class of metal hydroxides. It is used to control weeds and grasses in agricultural fields, and has also been used as an insecticide. Tralkoxydim inhibits the fatty acid biosynthesis by blocking the desaturase enzyme, which converts saturated fatty acids into unsaturated fatty acids. This effect is caused by binding to the active site of the desaturase enzyme, which prevents substrate from binding and blocks its activity. The molecular response of tralkoxydim includes an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, which leads to oxidative stress-induced apoptosis. The biochemical properties of tralkoxydim are similar to those of other herbicides in this class. Tralkoxydim binds to enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of cyclic peptides or protein inhibitors, such as piperonyl butoxide or cyclohexanedione, thereby inhibiting their activity. This inhibition leads
