• Descripción: D-Glycero-D-talo-heptitol is a natural product that is found in plants and bacteria. It is an alditol, which is created by the glycosidic bond of a carbohydrate and a hydroxyl group. D-Glycero-D-talo-heptitol has shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in fatty acid synthesis, such as 3-hydroxyacyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase, and carbohydrate synthesis, such as fructose 1,6 bisphosphatase. This compound also inhibits the borohydride reduction of glycan precursors. This may be due to its hydrophilic interactions with water molecules and its hydrophobic interactions with other lipid molecules.
