• Descripción: a-Homonojirimycin is a chaperone that is effective in inhibiting HIV infection. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of chymotrypsin, carboxypeptidase A, and aminopeptidase B. The model system used for this compound was the human liver, which showed that a-homonojirimycin had a potent inhibitory activity against these enzymes. This drug also has a dry weight of 1,520 g/mol and an effective dose of 0.01 mg/mL. In vitro studies have shown that a-homonojirimycin inhibits influenza virus by binding to the hemagglutinin protein on the surface of the virus and preventing its attachment to host cells.
