This drug inhibits cancer cells and has been shown to cause cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. It also induces inflammatory responses in cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to bind with cyclin D2 and uptake ternary complexes. 4MPBG also inhibits repair genes in human protein synthesis and microstructural changes in cancer cells.
