Descripción

The 4-methoxyphenyl 2,3,6-tri-O-benzoyl-b-D-galactopyranoside (4MP) is a coagulation factor that inhibits the activity of coagulation factors Xa and IIa. The compound has been shown to be reactive with the detection methods used for other coagulation factors. The sensitivity of 4MP to detection was assessed using a battery of detection methods. 4MP was found to be more reactive than other compounds studied with regard to the use of an immunoassay for detection. This compound has hepatotoxic effects and can cause cell death in vitro. Cell culture studies show that 4MP causes membrane permeabilization and cellular uptake by bacteria.
