It has been modified by the addition of a fluorine atom at position 2 on the phenyl ring. Ondansetron 7-D-glucuronide (mixture of isomers) has been synthesized by glycosylation, oligosaccharide, sugar, methylation and monosaccharide synthesis. This compound is used in pharmaceuticals as an antiemetic agent for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting following surgery or chemotherapy.
