Descripción:
(+/-)-SLV 319 is a cannabinoid receptor agonist. It binds to the CB2 receptor, which is expressed in the bowel and on immune cells. This drug has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in animal studies for inflammatory bowel disease and colitis, as well as anti-diarrheal activity. SLV 319 has also been shown to be an effective treatment for metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity in vivo models. (+/-)-SLV 319 inhibits fatty acid synthase, which is an enzyme that synthesizes fatty acids from acetyl-CoA, resulting in decreased levels of these molecules. The drug also has the ability to increase glucose uptake by both sodium-dependent glucose transporters (SGLT) and GLUT4 transporters.
