Trans-resveratrol 4'-O-b-D-glucuronide is a natural compound that is found in red wine and other foods. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells through the activation of adenosine receptors, which are found on cancer cells and are responsible for apoptosis. Trans-resveratrol 4'-O-b-D-glucuronide has been shown to be an agonist of the adenosine a3 receptor, with high concentrations leading to apoptosis in human colon cancer cells. This compound also inhibits colon carcinogenesis by inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis.
