2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-a-D-mannopyranosyl-Fmoc serine is a sugar that is synthesized from the natural amino acid serine. It is a modified sugar that has been fluorinated and acetylated on the 4th carbon position. The Fmoc protecting group was removed through a click modification to yield 2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-a-D-mannopyranosyl serine. This glycoconjugate can be used for glycosylation or methylation of proteins or peptides. This sugar has been shown to have antihypertensive effects in animal models and has been used as an adjuvant therapy in cancer treatment.
