3,4,6-Tri-O-acetyl-1,2-O-ethoxyethylidene-b-D-mannopyranose is a synthetic monosaccharide that is used as a substrate for the production of various oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. This substance can be fluorinated to produce 3,4,6-tri-O-(3′,5′ -difluoro) acetyl-1,2:5′,6′ -di(O-ethoxyethylidene)-b-D mannopyranose.
