Notable examples of this include the synthesis of C-glycoside intermediates which have been further elaborated to afford canagliflozin, bexagliflozin and dapagliflozin which inhibit sodium-dependant glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) and are of interest as antidiabetic agents.
