Descripción:L-Threonic acid is a metabolite of plants that is involved in the synthesis of other molecules. L-Threonic acid can also be found in caffeic acids, which are plant polyphenols that have antioxidant properties. L-Threonic acid has been shown to have structural similarity to calcium and has been shown to have a role in mitochondrial membrane potential, cellular physiology, and oxidative injury. L-Threonic acid may also play a role in energy metabolism. The toxicity of L-Threonic acid has been studied extensively with mixed results.
