Descripción:ZCL 278 is a molecule that has been shown in animal models to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells. It has also been shown to be effective against other types of cancer, including breast and colorectal cancers. ZCL 278 is thought to work by inhibiting protein transport on the cell surface and preventing cells from proliferating. This drug is still undergoing clinical trials and its effects on humans are unknown. It is not known how ZCL 278 works in molecular terms or what it will do to the cerebellar granule neurons. It is also not known if this molecule can be used as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.
