Descripción

2'-Amino-2'-deoxyuridine is a nucleoside that is used in the treatment of cervical cancer, as well as other cancers. It is a precursor for thymidine and uracil, which are important components of DNA. The 2'-amino group of this compound reacts with the hydroxyl group on the sugar molecule to form a glycosyl linkage. This reaction occurs spontaneously when there is an excess of 2'-amino-2'-deoxyuridine and it can be catalyzed by glycosylases. 2'-Amino-2'-deoxyuridine has been shown to inhibit cell growth and increase apoptosis in human adipose tissue and human bone marrow cells. It also inhibits the production of growth factors in these cells. Clinical studies have shown that 2'-amino-2'-deoxyuridine can inhibit tumor growth in mice with leukemia or lymphoma, although it does not affect tumor growth in mice without leukemia or
