It is currently under development as a potential treatment for Hepatitis C, HIV and cancer. 8-Amino-[1''-(N''-dansyl)-4''-aminobutyl]-5'-(1-aziridinyl)-5'-deoxyadenosine is an activator of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides.
