Indium(III) perchlorate octahydrate is a water-soluble, antimicrobial compound that has been shown to be effective against bacteria and fungi. It has been used as a sensing material for metal ions in solution. Indium(III) perchlorate octahydrate is synthesized by reacting indium oxide with hydrogen peroxide, and may be prepared as colloidal or nanoparticulate form. It can also be used as an antibiotic or antibacterial agent.
