Información del producto
- Salicylic acid, 4-nitro-, methyl ester
Methyl 2-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzoate is a nitroarene that can be synthesized by the reaction of phenol with methyl chloroformate. It has been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of hydroxamic acids and as a reagent for the determination of nitrite and nitrate ions. Methyl 2-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzoate can also be used to catalyze transfer hydrogenation reactions, which are important for organic synthesis. This compound has been used for colorimetric determination of phenols, amido groups, and transfer hydrogenation reactions.
