Trimethylsilyl Acrylate is a chemical compound that is used as a diagnostic reagent. It reacts with carboxylic acids to form ester compounds. Trimethylsilyl Acrylate is also used in the synthesis of polymers for use in coatings, adhesives and sealants. The hydroxyl group on the trimethylsilyl acrylate molecule can be sulfonated to form a sulfonic acid, which can then be cross-linked with other molecules to form cationic polymers. Trimethylsilyl Acrylate is an antioxidant that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
