Europium(III) fluoride is a linker that has been shown to be used in the synthesis of polymers. It is also used as an intermediate for organic synthesis, such as the production of anthranilic acid. Europium(III) fluoride is typically used as a reagent in organic chemistry and can be obtained from sodium citrate. The compound is soluble in water and alcohols, but insoluble in ethers. Europium(III) fluoride has a dipole moment of 3.27 D. This compound has been shown to exhibit impurities such as nitric acid, citric acid, acetylsalicylic acid, and formic acid when synthesized. Europium(III) fluoride has a powder diffraction pattern with peaks at 2θ = 8° and 2θ = 12° and an optical property of yellow light absorption at 560 nm with a maximum intensity at 598 nm.
